Real life takes over

***************** story time.. long, grab a drink***************

And how! ... gosh, this month I have really been "broadsided" by family life/crises and dear Mr Murphy who doesn't seem to like moving off to new grounds- LOL.

It's been a rather stressful one to say the least. As you all know I landed up playing "nurse in August" at home in Port Elizabeth and was hit with a few "spanners" too.. seems I should have just left my nursing outfit and cap there.

Last week Monday my Dad collapsed at home and was hospitalised on Tuesday morning.. My sis Gaye and I did the panic pack and flight home to PE as quick as we could. Having my sister with me was such a relief, and we even managed to get a few giggles in before seeing Dad that night.

We hired a car from the airport... and sped away in a rush to get to the hospital before visiting hours end.. well lets just say Kim drove half way there without the lights on first of all ( hey I have automatic lights on my car and wasn't used to turning buttons!) BWHAHAHA.. mmm, not the funniest yet though.....

We arrive at the hospital(chuffed we managed a close parking too) and I phone my little sister to say we are there and what floor is my Dad on.. she says "Ground floor"... well I can't see any hospital wards on the ground floor at all and after talking to the nurses land up walking the 2nd floor flat...phone sis back to tell her we can't find Dad... we will wait at the main entrance for her. After 10 minutes Gaye says that she is sure Kerry should have been there by now.. cut a long story short.. after phoning my sis again and her asking if I can see a "Dulces" near the entrance.. which we couldn't.......which meant Gaye and I had gone to the wrong hospital- OMG! I didn't read the messages correctly due to the panic and rush to get there- lol So we had to make another mad dash to the correct hospital- and made it too ( just!-lol)

It did make the family laugh and lift some of the "stress" for sure. Yup I'm a real dork at times.

dad-hospital

Daddy when his BP was 75/50.. for a man who has had high BP most of his life.. this was a new experience for sure.

I kept my dad at home with me after he was released as he was still very weak.. Gaye flew back home the weekend as hubby was looking after little miss C for her...and by Wednesday this week Dad was strong enough to fly back here with me. He is recouping well and I am happier being in my "comfort" zone with hubby by my side too ;-)

mmmmmmmmmmmmm, but seriously that wasn't enough.. NOPE, just to add some more to my stress levels..

My dear son Nathan ( who is working a practical year for his Civil Engineering Degree) has a huge cement drainage pipe fall off a back of a truck onto him at work on Thursday! Yup only two days after Dad was put in hospital..

He didn't want to get his crew into trouble for all the IOD red tape that he didn't tell the boss until 4pm that day when I had said he needed a hospital.. he was wearing gloves when it happened and only took off the gloves when finished.. well lets just say his hand looked like a "latex glove" blown up for kids at a doc's room.. I made him come home to get him to the emergency room.

So another long night was spent doing prods and tests and x-rays.. He has extensive bruising of the ribs( luckily nothing broken there), arms, shoulders and back.

He did have a bad fracture on his hand and because it was too swollen for any surgeon to work on it.. the Doc on Duty( a wonderful SHE!!) decided to try an experiment to try and avoid it once the swelling went down by Monday ( she hoped).............. long story short or you will be here ALL day! lol

It worked! OMG, Monday we spent the public holiday doing x-rays ect back at the hospital... but after she said it looks perfect and didn't need a surgeon anymore I could have KISSED her! BWHAHAHAHA.

nathan-arm

The day after the accident:( taken quickly with my phone as the boy was NOT impressed.. hence the blur- lol) That arm actually went black the next day and it took almost 4 days to get the swelling down on that other arm.

Tuesday he went in again to have the moulding and cast done so with Nathan on the mend and all "set" - excuse the pun...lol, I felt ok to come home...

And here I am(eventually).... and my friend Renee said this morning and I'm sooo stealing it... it sounded so appropriate..this is Kim you're talking to and normal is a setting on a washing machine.  BWWWWWWWWWWWAHAHAHA.

Wonder of U and New CU + Freebies

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, it's a great Friday so far.. beside waking up way tooo early this morning ( yikes 5.50am!) .. what the hell? lol. I think I'm getting old ( don't they say older people get up earlier? lol) and I don't have little kids to wake me up at that time either anymore! BWHAHAHA. Oy Kim *slapping forhead*!
My dear friend Craig just phoned me too - While I was at home in PE we were talking about "lottery" tickets and how Wayne and I only seem to buy them when we are with the "old folks" (as they religiously take them every week) and how Wayne found out he had won R1675.00 in FEB after having a ticket since Dec 2011... Well, Craig went and bought himself a "quick pick" ticket after our "discussion" and took his ticket in on Tuesday this week to our local supermarket in PE to see if he had won anything.. He says the cashier slips it through the machine and it reads "Un-payable"..HUH? He has to take it to the Lotto "head office" to have it scanned and see how much the value is as the supermarkets only pay to certain amount.. He could hardly contain himself when he told me the lady at head office got up and came around to hug him! BWHAHAHAHAHA. Lets just say he hit 5 numbers and added another 2 zeros to Wayne's number.. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! He didn't believe it until the transfer hit his account this morning and of course had to phone so he could rub it in to tease Wayne that his looks sooo much more prettier -lol> Congrats Craigy.. couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!
WHEEEEEEEEEEE- Friday means NEW and more NEW.. and of course a freebie or two... or maybe three if you subscribe to my newsletter ;-P

Mr Murphy and "Baby Grace"

**** lots of Yakking - grab coffee or scroll down to "Collab"***

Gosh, I don't think Mr Murphy liked me going home to Port Elizabeth at all and decided to throw a few "spokes" in the wheel. BWHAHAHA. I had a blast in PE(always do). The weather was terrible and rained the whole time we were there but the "love" was warm so it didn't matter at all ;-).

I got to see all the friends (Ant, Michael, Gaylene, Craig, Robin) on Friday night and Nathan and Kris joined us.. gosh I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Nathan had us at a local "pub/dance" place after 12am(including all our friends too!) and was not shy to show off his mother and father - even danced with me which had the friends all "oohing and aahing" and joining in too...and me feeling quite chuffed that he didn't worry about the "old folks" being with him. We all got home after 3am! lol.

We had a traditional Japanese dinner with our good friend Craig on the Saturday night which was a fantastic experience for all of us( we still don't know what some of the dishes were as it was all organized OFF MENU-(and was just brought to the table during the evening.. lol).. Sunday was  a really good family day and a chance to catch some needed rest-BWHAHAH.

Monday seriously landed up what I call the "hospital day"... I took my dad back to the specialist to get his results from the second biopsy that was taken from his ear after they had cut out all the "affected tissue" and to get his stitches removed and it was ALL CLEAR! WOOHOOO!

The kids both woke up Monday morning with Gastro ( going both sides) so I spent my Monday playing nurse to most of the family (including my dad) .. and did they "milk" it.. BWHAHAHA. "Maaaaaaa... I need my meds".. but Mommmmy you always used to give it me.. Mommm, I feel sick. lol. Of course Mom loved every minute of it and played the part ;-P

Then of course Kim(yeah ME) talking like a trooper again manages to Whack her hand against a wall while knocking over a vase too ..fingers first ( yeah I laugh loud and talk with my hands- go figure huh? BWHAHAH) and sprains her middle finger badly enough to have it strapped up! Yeah even I didn't miss the "docs" on Monday!...... and THEN...

Tuesday morning when I had to fly back here at 7am! MMMMMMMM.. "Mom" woke up feeling extremely naar (nauseous) and after two sips of coffee was in the "toilet" herself... OH NO... please not now.. I have to get in an aeroplane dammit! Thank Goodness I had bought out half the pharmacy the day before for the kids so I took EVERYTHING in double dose! BWHAHAH.. I was a walking glazed zombie by the time I got on the plane and managed to "knyp" enough to make the whole flight. Wayne kept handing me the "barf bag" as he saw me sweating and swallowing..  but NO WAYS in hell would I do that.. nope.. NOOOOO- lol

Let me tell you that it was the LONGEST hour and a half flight I have ever had and we had an even longer drive back to the house with all the "pit" stops! lol

Wednesday I was feeling a bit better but took the day "off" to recover,Gosh sprained finger, upset tummy and thinking I needed to be wrapped in "bubble wrap"- BWAHAHAH.

Thursday Mr Murphy decided.. NAH... lets play some more(of course Why not), and with some really huge hail storms here it wiped out our electricity for the whole day and it only came on at 3am again.. WHAT?? seriously, I hadn't been ONLINE for over a week and now when I can.. mmm, I can't?? lol.

Thanks to my sis GS Creations for sending out SOS mails for me and toAmber (Stolen Moments)for actually doing my "newsletter Ads" for  ScrapMatters ....love ya tons!

So Friday ( yup yesterday) I was all rearing to go( and getting ANTSY by this time too) and sat answering mails and getting ready for Friday ( which as you know is also new releases etc) and BAM.... off it goes again until 4pm yesterday- SERIOUSLY DUDE.. you can now go visit someone else for a while-BWHAHAHA.

Ok enough yakking... as I have LIGHTS this morning and yup it might just rain as I can't remember the last time I actually blogged on a Saturday- lol
